Contemporary academia is a magnificent institution, but it is not without its dysfunctions. From the statistical sorcery of p-hacking to the impossible demands of "Reviewer 2," the pressure to publish can sometimes push science into the realm of the absurd.

At FAKE, we believe the best way to deconstruct these flaws is to hold up a mirror. Our mission is to provide a platform where scholars, researchers, and academic enthusiasts worldwide can wrap the most preposterous academic conclusions in a highly rigorous, top-tier scholarly facade. By weaponizing irony, we satirize the underlying logic of academic fraud and systemic anomalies to advocate for a more transparent scientific community.

1. Our Core Principles

To maintain our editorial integrity and creative vision, we operate on three unshakeable pillars:

• Prestigious Form: We demand an impeccably formal exterior. Our research articles strictly mimic the tone, structure, and sophisticated argumentation of elite journals like Nature or Science.
• Absurd Content: We celebrate the preposterous. We encourage our authors to employ fictional evidence, manipulated datasets, improbable methodologies, and circular reasoning in service of brilliant comedic and critical objectives.

2. What We Do (And What We Don't)

FAKE features five permanent pillar columns designed for maximum intellectual entertainment and viral commentary:

• Research Articles: Rigorous, full-length papers and synthetic data experiments deriving entirely absurd conclusions.
• News & Comment: Opinion-driven pieces, editorials, and Retraction Watch Theatre capturing hot academic topics with a straight-faced journalistic tone.
• Reviews & Analysis: Deep-dives systematically mapping out non-existent fields of study or analyzing dysfunctional academic cultures.
• Peer Review Theatre: A crowd-favorite space dedicated to sharing, adapting, or inventing the most infuriating and hilarious peer-review feedback.
• Archives & Awards: Our annual entertainment hub, celebrating milestones like the Lifetime Achievement Award for Unverifiability.

Our Ethical Red Lines: While we celebrate satire, we strictly prohibit tutorials on actual academic misconduct. We do not teach readers how to evade real institutional oversight; we only satirize the culture that creates it. Furthermore, we do not accept content that defames real individuals or creates harmful panic for readers.

3. Operating Model

FAKE is entirely a non-profit initiative run by a dedicated editorial board and community.

No Fees, No Pay: At present, we do not charge publication fees, review fees, or submission fees, nor do we pay authors honoraria or royalties. We operate purely for the love of creative expression and academic commentary.

Legal Transparency: FAKE currently operates as an independent initiative rather than a separate legal entity. Any future evolution of our operating structure will always safeguard the rights, licenses, and spirit of the works entrusted to us by our authors.
